Who it's for
Households keeping a fridge list of key numbers, carers who need a parent's doctors and neighbours in one place, and club or team organisers who want contact details for every member without a spreadsheet. It's also handy as the first page of a home management binder.
Getting the most from a contact list.
Use the notes column for context
Write how you know someone, their partner's or children's names, or their best time to call. For services, note account numbers or what they did last time, such as "fixed boiler, March".
Make an emergency page first
Fill one copy with the numbers you'd need if your phone died: family, doctor, school, workplace, neighbour, vet and a plumber. Keep it on the fridge or in a home binder.
Sort by group, not just alphabetically
Use one page per group (family, friends, medical, school, trades) rather than one long list. It's quicker to find someone when you know which page they're on.
Write in pencil or type digitally
Phone numbers and emails change. On paper, pencil makes updates easy; in GoodNotes, typed text boxes can be edited without leaving a mess.
Check it once a year
When you send holiday cards or update your planner for the new year, read down the list and fix anything out of date.

What columns does the contact list have?
Name, phone, email and notes. The notes column is the widest after name, so there's room for addresses, birthdays or how you know someone.
Can I use it as an emergency contact list?
Yes. It's a good fit: list doctors, family, neighbours and services, print it and keep a copy on the fridge and one in the car or a go-bag. The family emergency plan template pairs well with it.
How many contacts fit on one page?
About 20 on the printable Letter and A4 versions, with lines big enough to write by hand. Print as many pages as you need.
Is there an address column?
Not a separate one, to keep the lines wide. Write the address in the notes column, or use the Christmas card list template, which has a wide address column.
