Getting the most from a photo shot list.
Prioritise the must-haves
Star the five or six shots that matter most, like grandparents with the couple. Get those early, before people leave.
Write names, not just roles
"Bride with Aunt Ruth and cousins" is easier for a photographer than "bride with dad's side". Names help them call people in.
Group shots by location
Order the list by where the shots happen, so the photographer doesn't move back and forth.
Assign a helper
Give the list to a friend who knows the family to gather people for group shots. It speeds things up.
Keep it realistic
Every formal group shot takes a couple of minutes. Twenty groups is most of an hour.
Include detail shots
Rings, invitations, table settings, cake, flowers and venue details are easy to forget and lovely to have. Add them as their own rows.

A list of specific photos to capture at an event, so nothing important is missed. Photographers and couples use them for weddings, and they're useful for any event or shoot.
Should I give it to my photographer?
Yes, a week or two before. Professional photographers often have their own; this page is for the shots specific to your family.
