Who it's for

Getting the most from a attendance sheet.
Use a simple code
A tick or P for present, A for absent, L for late, E for excused. Write the key in the top margin so anyone covering for you can use it.
Cross out weekends and holidays
At the start of the month, cross out days the class doesn't meet. Empty boxes then always mean something.
Keep names in the same order as your gradebook
Matching the order makes it quick to move between attendance and grades, and easy to spot a student who's missing a lot.
Total at the end of the month
Add a quick total for each student in the margin. Patterns in absence are often the first sign that someone needs support.
Use it for clubs and volunteers
Coaches, youth leaders and volunteer coordinators use the same page. Write dates above the columns if you only meet weekly.

How many students fit on the attendance sheet?
28 rows, which fits most classes. Print two for larger groups.
Is it monthly?
Yes. There are 31 day columns and a Month line, so you print one sheet per month.
Is it an official register?
No. Many schools require an official system. Teachers use this as a personal backup, and clubs and groups use it as their main register.
Can I use it for a yoga class or club?
Yes. Write session dates above the columns and use it for any regular group.
Can I track two sessions a day?
Yes. Split each day's box with a diagonal line: morning in the top half, afternoon in the bottom.
