  • Page 1, 52-Week Savings Challenge (Weeks 1–26): A table with columns for week, deposit, total saved, date and done
  • Page 2, 52-Week Savings Challenge (Weeks 27–52): A table with columns for week, deposit, total saved, date and done

Who it's for

People who find saving hard to start, families saving for Christmas or a holiday, children learning to save with smaller amounts, and anyone who likes a year-long challenge with a clear finish line.

How to use it

Getting the most from a 52-week savings challenge.

  1. Fill in the deposits before week 1

Classic: week 1 is $1, week 2 is $2, up to $52 in week 52, for $1,378 in total. Write all 52 amounts and running totals first, so each week you just tick it off.

  2. Try the reverse version

Start with the biggest amount in January and finish with the smallest. It front-loads the hard weeks before holiday spending in December.

  3. Scale it to your budget

Double it for $2,756, or halve it. In pounds, euros or naira, use whatever weekly step is realistic for you.

  4. Automate it if you can

Set up a weekly transfer on payday and tick the box when it goes through. The page becomes a record rather than a weekly decision.

  5. Catch up, don't give up

Missed a week? Add it to next week's deposit or spread it over a few weeks. The date column shows when each one was actually done.
