100 Envelope Challenge Template (Printable PDF & GoodNotes)
A 100 envelope challenge tracker with 100 numbered squares. Each number is the amount for that envelope, so envelope 37 holds 37. Colour a square every time you fill an envelope. Complete them all and you'll have saved 5,050 in your currency.

Who it's for
People who enjoy a game-like challenge, cash stuffers, couples saving for a wedding or deposit, and anyone wanting a visual way to save a large amount over a few months. It also works as a shared family goal: children can pick the envelope number each week and colour the square, which turns saving into a game everyone watches.
Getting the most from a 100 envelope challenge.
Pick envelopes at random
Draw a number from a jar or close your eyes and point. Mixing big and small envelopes keeps the challenge from getting harder and harder.
Set a pace
Two envelopes a week finishes in under a year; one a day takes 100 days. Decide your pace up front and write it on the page.
Make it smaller if you need to
For a gentler version, halve every amount (2,525 in total) or treat each number as cents or pence for kids.
Keep envelopes somewhere safe
Cash at home is tempting and risky. Many people bank the money weekly and use the chart only as the tracker.
Colour as you fill
Colour the square when the envelope is filled, not when you choose it. The chart shows real progress.

How much do you save with the 100 envelope challenge?
5,050 in total, because 1 + 2 + 3 + … + 100 adds up to 5,050. In dollars that's $5,050.
Do I need real envelopes?
No. The chart does the same job. Some people like physical envelopes for cash; others transfer each amount to a savings account and colour the square.
How long does it take?
As long as you like. Common paces are 100 days (one a day), about six months (four a week) or a year (two a week).
Is it the same as the savings tracker?
No. In the savings tracker all 100 squares are worth the same. Here each square is worth its number.
