Getting the most from a wedding guest list.
Write households, not individuals
One row per invitation, with the party size. It matches how invitations are sent and makes the head count simple.
Start with an A and B list
Mark must-invite guests with an A. If the budget or venue limits numbers, the B list is easy to see.
Tick invites as they're posted
Tick invite sent on the day you post or send it. It stops anyone being missed or invited twice.
Track meal choices with the RSVP
Write meal choices and dietary needs when the RSVP arrives. Caterers need final numbers by course.
Use the last column after the wedding
Note gifts as they arrive and tick when the thank-you is sent. It's the column that saves awkwardness later.
Add addresses on a second page
