Stick it on the freezer door
Print it and tape it to the freezer or the wall beside it, with a pen on a string. It only works if it's easy to update.
Label and log together
Write the item and date on the bag or tub, and the same on the inventory, as you put it in.
Use by, not just date frozen
Write a use-by date so you can see at a glance what needs eating first.
Plan meals from it
Before writing your meal plan, read the inventory and build two or three meals around what's there.
Clear it out monthly
Once a month, check the freezer against the list, remove what's been used and rewrite the page if it's messy.
Group by type
Split the page into meat, vegetables, ready meals, bread and treats by leaving a blank row between groups. Finding things on the list and in the freezer gets quicker.
