Who it's for
Parents starting pocket money, families teaching save, spend and give, and parents with several children who want everyone's allowance on one fair page.
Getting the most from a allowance tracker.
Split each allowance three ways
Save, spend and give is a simple way to teach money. Agree the split together, such as half to spend and a quarter each to save and give.
Let them fill it in
Children who write their own amounts learn far more than children who watch a parent do it. Even young kids can colour or tick.
Make the savings goal concrete
A toy, a game, a day out. Writing the cost and the amount saved so far turns saving into progress they can see.
Link it to chores if you want
Some families pay a base allowance and extra for chores. The family chore chart has a points column for that.
Pay on the same day each week
Consistency matters more than the amount. Pick a day, pay it, and write it in that week's column.
Hold a five-minute money chat
When you pay the allowance, look at the page together. Ask what they're saving for, how close they are and whether the give jar has a plan. Short, regular conversations teach more than one big lecture.
