Guide

How to use a pregnancy planner

A pregnancy planner does two things: it keeps appointments, questions and to-dos organised during the months of waiting, and it becomes a record you'll want to keep. It is not a medical tool; always follow your doctor or midwife.
  1. Write questions before each appointment

The appointments pages have a questions-to-ask column. Write questions as they come up, so you don't forget them in the room.

  2. Fill in a bump journal page every few weeks

Each page has the week, how you're feeling, cravings and the baby's size, a space for a bump photo and notes for baby. There are 12, roughly one a month.

  3. Plan money for leave

Use the monthly budget to plan for parental leave and the costs of a new baby. Start early so the numbers aren't a surprise.

  4. Pack the hospital bag in the third trimester

The checklist is already started for you, for you, the baby, your partner and documents. Add what your hospital recommends.

  5. Switch to the baby log after the birth

The weekly feeding, nappy and sleep log helps in the newborn weeks, when days blur together and the health visitor asks questions.

  6. Note baby milestones as they happen

The baby milestones pages have a date and memory column for firsts like the first smile or first bath. A line each time is enough; the dates are harder to remember later than you'd expect.

What to include in a pregnancy planner

A pregnancy planner and journal should cover the months before the birth and the weeks after. This one includes:

Calendar

Weekly and monthly pages

Month calendars for appointments and scans, and a weekly page with goal actions. There are no daily pages by default, so it stays light during a busy time.

Every section can be switched off in the builder, and sections from other planners can be added.

Digital vs printable pregnancy planner

A digital pregnancy planner is easy to keep with you at appointments, and you can paste scan pictures and bump photos straight into the bump journal. Your partner can import the same PDF on their own device.

A printed pregnancy journal makes a lovely keepsake. Print the bump journal and milestones on A5 or A4 and keep them in a binder with scan photos. Print the hospital bag checklist separately.

Questions

Pregnancy planner questions

Does it give medical advice?

No. It's for organising and remembering. Always follow your doctor or midwife.

Is there a baby log?

Yes — a weekly feeding, nappy and sleep log for the whole year.

Is there a free pregnancy planner?

You can build this pregnancy planner and flip through every page in your browser for free, with a watermark. The tabs and links work in the preview, so you can check the layout before you pay. The clean PDF is $12 once, or included in Pro at $49 a year for unlimited planners. There is no free download of the full planner.

Does it work with GoodNotes, Notability, Samsung Notes and e-ink tablets?

Yes. Download the iPad size for GoodNotes, Notability, Noteshelf, Xodo, Collanote or ZoomNotes; the Android size for Samsung Notes, Penly, Flexcil or Xodo; or the E-ink size for reMarkable, Kindle Scribe, Boox and Supernote. The links work in any app that follows PDF links, usually in read mode rather than pen mode. Every size is included in the price.

Can I print the pregnancy planner?

Yes. Choose A5, A4, US Letter or Half Letter in the builder for a printable PDF with a wider inner margin for hole punching. Printable and digital sizes come with the same purchase, so you can use the pregnancy planner on a tablet and print the pages you want on paper.

Is the pregnancy planner dated or undated?

Dated by default, starting in January 2027. You can pick any start month and year (including this month), 12 or 18 months, and Monday or Sunday weeks. Or switch to undated and write the dates in yourself, so a skipped week isn't wasted.

Does the AI fill in the pregnancy planner for me?

Only the goal parts, and only if you want it to. Type up to six goals and the AI writes a milestone for each month and a short action for each week onto your month and week pages, plus a motto for each month. You can edit every line before you download. Everything else, from the calendar pages to the trackers, is yours to fill in by hand. You can try it 3 times a day without an account.

How many pages is the pregnancy planner?

With the default settings it comes to about 288 pages. That includes 12 month pages, 53 weekly pages, the Pregnancy & Baby, Health Admin, Budget and Gratitude & Journal pages and 20 notes pages. Switching off daily pages or sections makes it shorter, and the builder shows the total as you change things.

Make it yours in about a minute.

Set your dates, device and goals, flip through the preview free, and pay only when it's right.
