Start with the memory verse
Choose the verse first and build the lesson around it. It gives the morning one clear message.
Plan the opening to settle the room
A song, a question or a short game. Children arrive at different times; the opening brings them together.
Match the activity to the age group
Crafts for younger children, discussion or drama for older ones. Write the materials in the activity box.
Prepare two or three questions
Simple questions for young children, open questions for older ones. Questions help children connect the story to their week.
Send something home
A colouring page, a verse card or a question for families. Note it in the take-home box.
Prepare materials the day before
Gather craft materials, print handouts and set out the room the day before. On Sunday morning, you can focus on welcoming children.
