Digital planners for commercial use: what you can sell

The Seller plan ($19 a month) lets you sell the planners you generate here as finished PDFs or printed products, under your own shop name, as many times as you like while you're subscribed. It doesn't give resell rights or editable templates. Here's the licence in plain words.

This page summarises the licence. If anything here differs from the full licence, the licence applies.

How it works

Making planners to sell, in three steps.

  1. 1

    Join the Seller plan

The licence covers planners and sticker books you generate while subscribed. Files made earlier on the Single Planner or Pro plans stay personal use; generate them again on Seller.

  2. 2

    Make and brand them

Build a planner, add your shop name and logo to the cover, and export up to eight theme and format combinations in one zip, with a licence note included.

  3. 3

    List and sell

Use the seller studio for tablet mockup images and an AI-drafted Etsy title, 13 tags and description. Check them, then publish in your shop.

The details

What the licence allows, and what it doesn't.

Taken from the commercial licence. Your customers get a personal-use licence from you.

It does

  • Sell planners you generate on the Seller plan as digital downloads in your own shop on Etsy, Shopify, Gumroad, your own site or similar
  • Sell them as printed products: printed planners, inserts and bound books
  • Sell each planner an unlimited number of times while you're subscribed
  • Put your shop name and logo on the cover, and use the mockup images and listing text we generate
  • Use the included cover art inside the planners you sell
  • Bundle versions for your customers, such as iPad and Android together, or a planner with its sticker book
  • Keep past sales licensed if you cancel: your customers keep what they bought

It doesn't

  • Sell or share editable templates or source files, such as Canva or Keynote templates or layered design files
  • Sell PLR, resell-rights or master-resell-rights (MRR) bundles meant for other sellers
  • Sell the cover art, stickers or page designs on their own, outside a planner
  • Offer planner generation as a service using our tool, or claim you made the generator
  • Sell planners made on the Single Planner or Pro plans, or with someone else's account
  • Keep selling after you cancel: remove or pause those listings by the end of your last billing period
  • Claim exclusive rights to the themes or covers, which other sellers can use too
Compared

How this compares with PLR and template licences.

Many “commercial use” planner products are either PLR bundles or editable templates. The difference is what you're allowed to pass on. Terms vary from shop to shop, so always read the licence you're buying; this table describes the usual pattern.

If you design planners in Canva or another tool and only use us to add links, the licence for your artwork comes from that tool, so check its terms. Linking for sale needs the Seller plan; files linked with a single credit are personal use.

Being honest with buyers

Describe what's inside, which apps and devices it works with, and that it's a digital download. Some marketplaces, including Etsy, have rules about disclosing how items are made, including the use of AI tools. Treat AI-written listing text as a draft, and don't add reviews, discounts or claims that aren't true.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Can I sell digital planners I make here on Etsy?

Yes, on the Seller plan. You can sell each planner you generate as many times as you like while you're subscribed, under your own shop name.

Is this a PLR licence?

No. PLR and resell-rights bundles let buyers pass products on to other sellers. This licence lets you sell finished planners to end customers only; you can't sell resell rights.

Do I have to credit Custom Digital Planner?

The licence doesn't ask for credit. On the Seller plan, the “Made with” credit line is removed from every page, and your shop name goes on the cover.

What happens when I cancel?

Sales you've already made stay licensed, and your customers keep what they bought. Remove or pause listings made with the plan by the end of your final billing period. To sell new copies later, subscribe again.

Can I sell planners I made before joining Seller?

No. Files made on the Single Planner or Pro plans are personal use. Generate them again while you're on Seller.

Can I sell planners I link with the hyperlink tool?

Yes, if you link them on the Seller plan, where linking is unlimited. Files linked with a single credit are for personal use.

Are my planners unique?

Not exclusively. Other sellers can use the same themes and covers, and you can't register them as your own trademark or design. Your choice of niche, pages, settings and branding is what makes your listing different.
